About this tale
Imagine being very little. Imagine being made of sugar. Imagine how great your fear of rain would be.
Imagine being…Sugarina.
“Sugarina and the Acid Rain” explores irrational fear and its consequences - it teaches children that some fears, however grand they may seem, do not have to remain so, and that a challenge or a situation that requires courage helps them grow and gain confidence.
It was inspired by the Polish saying that is a reaction to someone worrying about getting rained upon - it goes: “You are not made of sugar; you will not melt.”
